About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to join our team at our head office in Burnaby, BC. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating product development. Your key drivers will enable scrum teams to meet their sprint goals, facilitating agile ceremonies, aiding in removing any impediments, and buffering them. You will employ Agile and Lean methodologies to support the continuous improvement efforts of our team. This role is a full-time permanent opportunity to join our dynamic team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and facilitating key agile ceremonies, such as stand-ups, product demos, retrospectives, and planning.
  • Help the team to minimize noise that prevents them from meeting their sprint commitments.
  • Facilitates discussion between the team and the Product Owner to collaborate on creating and estimating user stories.
  • Increase the team’s agile fluency through coaching the team to embrace and embed lean and agile practices in their work.
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Enable the team to become self-organized and empowered teams that consistently deliver on their sprint commitments.
  • Ensure the engineering teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
  • Acting as the Agile evangelist for the organization, promoting Agile principles and philosophy throughout the company.
  • Working closely with Product Owner and technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Protecting the team from interruption and roadblocks to ensure that team velocity is maintained.

Your Experience

  • Degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) would be an asset
  • Experience with the Lean Startup approach is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Scrum Master in robotics or software companies.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience working with the Atlassian suite of products are necessary.
  • Nice to know the Lean-Agile approach

  2. Thorough knowledge of Agile and Kanban software development methodologies, values, and practices.
  3. Extensive experience with agile reporting and metrics.
  4. Outstanding facilitation skills and knowledge and must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
  5. Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential and champion change.
  6. Experience working in complex, multi-project, multi-team environments.
  7. Creative, resourceful, and innovative at tackling complex challenges.
