AIS Inc is committed to state-of-the-art research in Autonomous Mobile Robot Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to create affordable, autonomous custom robotic solutions to solve real industry problems. We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to help our customers in the horticulture industry.

Job Overview

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities are to Operate the robot in customer sites and conduct various test scenarios in house or on site. In addition, Contacting the Field Engineer and being able to troubleshoot the electrical, and software side of the robot. Presumably preparing in depth reports and documentations for the product and project management team. You will visit customer sites for operation, technical evaluation, delivery and calibrating and training customers to utilize robots which are based on the RaaS model (Robots as a Service). The candidate will also interact with customers to gather their needs so they could be translated to feasible technical and operational tasks. Identifying these problems will substantially speed up our teams to provide solutions to the problems and our production.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for smooth communication with the customers and the team
  • Independent worker and thinker who can effectively manage their time
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Problem solver in technical environments, in the lab and on the field
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot robotic systems is an asset
  • Mechatronics experience preferred
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Being flexible for the testing schedules and times depends on the customer’s need.

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering, electrical, computer science, mechatronics is preferred
  • Technical background in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or experience in robotics is an asset
  • Experience with basic hand tools
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Documentation skills (familiar with MS office, google sheet, Confluence, etc.)
  • Having excellent organizational skills is a must
  • Detail-oriented

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to work in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to work on site, plant nurseries and customer locations
  • Capable of carrying equipment when travelling
  • Our testing schedule might vary depending on the location
